Main point summary
In Capernaum Jesus sees the tax collector Levi and calls him to follow Him. Levi does just this. Jesus then takes a meal with Levi and many other tax collectors and sinners. This bothers the scribes of the Pharisees, who then complain to Jesus' disciples. Jesus answers by saying that it is the sick who need a doctor, not the healthy and that He has come to call the sinner and not the righteous.
