Light Instead of Darkness

Paul warns that deceivers with lying words are at work. He admonishes the Ephesians not to be partakers with them, but walk as children of light. In other words, do not participate in deeds of darkness, but expose them to the light of Christ.

Based on the "for this reason" in v14, Paul is talking about moving from darkness into light. v14 states that when we "awake" the light of Christ shines on us. Thus we become light (v8b). "You are the light of the world." Mt 5:14.

We expose the deeds of darkness by walking in the light, i.e., being a example in goodness, righteousness and truth (v8c-9).

When those in darkness encounter those of the light, they move from darkness to light.

Do not be partakers with the deceivers, but walk as children of light.

Possible reference to: the deceivers, the sons of disobedience or the actions of these people. I would exclude the last, since the "them" is masculine and not neuter as in v6b. I think "the deceivers" is meant.
