Meditations
Only those who can see the future will be able to be free from anger and anxiety. I am not suggesting we all get crystal balls and study soothsaying. No, this is a call to open the eyes of our hearts. It is a call to look in faith at the promises of God and discern the end of those who hate both him and us (Psalm 73:16-17). On this point, the Lord presents himself as our example. As the wicked plot against and mock the righteous, God laughs. Why? It is not because he does not care! God laughs because God sees . God sees the end from the beginning. God sees the day to come in which the wicked will be swept away. One of the reasons that Psalm 37 was written was to open our eyes to likewise see. And in seeing, to gain a view of the day to come and lose the turmoil in our hearts today.
