a Jesus went out from there and * came into 1 b His hometown; and His disciples * followed Him.
b He went away from there
Καὶ ἐξῆλθεν ἐκεῖθεν
and came to c his hometown,
καὶ ἔρχεται εἰς τὴν πατρίδα αὐτοῦ,
and his disciples followed him.
καὶ ἀκολουθοῦσιν αὐτῷ οἱ μαθηταὶ αὐτοῦ.

When the Sabbath came, He began a to teach in the synagogue; and the b many listeners were astonished, saying, “Where did this man get these things, and what is this wisdom given to Him, and such 1 miracles as these performed by His hands?
And d on the Sabbath
καὶ γενομένου σαββάτου
he began to teach in the synagogue,
ἤρξατο διδάσκειν ἐν τῇ συναγωγῇ,

καὶ πολλοὶ ἀκούοντες
were astonished,
ἐξεπλήσσοντο

λέγοντες•
Is not this a the carpenter, b the son of Mary, and brother of 1 James and Joses and Judas and Simon? Are not c His sisters here with us?” And they took d offense at Him.
“Where did this man get these things? What is the wisdom given to him? How are such mighty works done by his hands?
πόθεν τούτῳ ταῦτα, καὶ τίς ἡ σοφία ἡ δοθεῖσα τούτῳ, καὶ αἱ δυνάμεις τοιαῦται διὰ τῶν χειρῶν αὐτοῦ γινόμεναι;
f Is not this g the carpenter, the son of Mary and h brother of James and Joses and Judas and Simon? And are not his sisters here with us?”
οὐχ οὗτός ἐστιν ὁ τέκτων, ὁ υἱὸς τῆς Μαρίας καὶ ἀδελφὸς Ἰακώβου καὶ Ἰωσῆτος καὶ Ἰούδα καὶ Σίμωνος; καὶ οὐκ εἰσὶν αἱ ἀδελφαὶ αὐτοῦ ὧδε πρὸς ἡμᾶς;

And Jesus said to them,
καὶ ἔλεγεν αὐτοῖς ὁ Ἰησοῦς ὅτι
j “A prophet is not without honor,
οὐκ ἔστιν προφήτης ἄτιμος
except in his hometown and among his relatives and in his own household.”
εἰ μὴ ἐν τῇ πατρίδι αὐτοῦ καὶ ἐν τοῖς συγγενεῦσιν αὐτοῦ καὶ ἐν τῇ οἰκίᾳ αὐτοῦ.

And He could do no 1 miracle there except that He a laid His hands on a few sick people and healed them.
And k he could do no mighty work there,
καὶ οὐκ ἐδύνατο ἐκεῖ ποιῆσαι οὐδεμίαν δύναμιν,
except that l he laid his hands on a few sick people
εἰ μὴ ὀλίγοις ἀρρώστοις ἐπιθεὶς τὰς χεῖρας
and healed them.

And He wondered at their unbelief. a And He was going around the villages teaching.
And m he marveled because of their unbelief.
καὶ ἐθαύμαζεν διὰ τὴν ἀπιστίαν αὐτῶν.
n And he went about among the villages
* Καὶ περιῆγεν τὰς κώμας κύκλῳ
διδάσκων.
