And He * said to them, “Come away by yourselves to a secluded place and rest a while.” (For there were many people coming and going, and a they did not even have time to eat.)
He said to them, “Come with me privately to an isolated place and rest a while” (for many were coming and going, and there was no time to eat).
and he said to them, ‘Come ye yourselves apart to a desert place, and rest a little,’ for those coming and those going were many, and not even to eat had they opportunity,
Then, because so many people were coming and going that they did not even have a chance to eat, he said to them, “Come with me by yourselves to a quiet place and get some rest.”
καὶ λέγει αὐτοῖς• δεῦτε ὑμεῖς αὐτοὶ κατʼ ἰδίαν εἰς ἔρημον τόπον καὶ ἀναπαύσασθε ὀλίγον.
And he said to them, “Come away by yourselves to a desolate place and rest a while.”
ἦσαν γὰρ οἱ ἐρχόμενοι καὶ οἱ ὑπάγοντες πολλοί, καὶ οὐδὲ φαγεῖν εὐκαίρουν.

The people saw them going, and many recognized them and ran there together on foot from all the cities, and got there ahead of them. When Jesus went 1 ashore, He a saw a large crowd, and He felt compassion for them because b they were like sheep without a shepherd; and He began to teach them many things.
But many saw them leaving and recognized them, and they hurried on foot 46 from all the towns 47 and arrived there ahead of them. 48 As Jesus 49 came ashore 50 he saw the large crowd and he had compassion on them, because they were like sheep without a shepherd. So 51 he taught them many things.
And the multitudes saw them going away, and many recognised him, and by land from all the cities they ran thither, and went before them, and came together to him, and having come forth, Jesus saw a great multitude, and was moved with compassion on them, that they were as sheep not having a shepherd, and he began to teach many things.
But many who saw them leaving recognized them and ran on foot from all the towns and got there ahead of them. When Jesus landed and saw a large crowd, he had compassion on them, because they were like sheep without a shepherd. So he began teaching them many things.
καὶ εἶδον αὐτοὺς ὑπάγοντας καὶ ἐπέγνωσαν πολλοὶ καὶ πεζῇ ἀπὸ πασῶν τῶν πόλεων συνέδραμον ἐκεῖ καὶ προῆλθον αὐτούς. Καὶ ἐξελθὼν εἶδεν πολὺν ὄχλον

καὶ ἐσπλαγχνίσθη ἐπʼ αὐτούς,

καὶ ἤρξατο διδάσκειν αὐτοὺς πολλά.
And he began to teach them many things.

“This is a desolate place, and the hour is now late.

There were a five thousand men who ate the loaves.
Now 58 there were five thousand men 59 who ate the bread. 60
and those eating of the loaves were about five thousand men.
The number of the men who had eaten was five thousand.
καὶ ἦσαν οἱ φαγόντες [τοὺς ἄρτους] πεντακισχίλιοι ἄνδρες.
And those who ate the loaves were five thousand men.
