as of a lamb without blemish and without spot.
He indeed was foreordained
before the foundation of the world,
but was manifest in these last times for you
who through Him believe in God,
who raised Him from the dead and gave Him glory,
so that your faith and hope are in God.

Now this is the word which by the gospel was preached to you.
Peter, under the authority of Christ, writes to see the elect increasing in grace and peace. Grace and peace is multiplied by God through the Gospel of which Peter is just about to write.

What salvation? 5a only saved people are kept for the reserved inheritance A salvation revealed in the last time 5c-d Peter speaks about final salvation at the revelation of Jesus Christ 7g. Paul refers this to the redemption of our bodies Rm 8:23
Believing though not seeing Him is loving and rejoicing in Him.
