Notes
This passage shows a pattern that is repeated in John frequently: 7:27 The Lord's deity denied 7:28-29 The Lord's clarification on His person and origin 7:30 Result 1: A failed attempt to arrest the Lord Jesus 7:31 Result 2: Some people believe the Lord Jesus Those who believed looked away from the 'non-sense-talk' of the masses and their own inclination to join them and looked at the facts. They understood that what was promised years ago by reliable sources about the works of the Messiah became true in Jesus Christ. Challenge: Are the sources for your worldview and beliefs reliable, consistent, and overall true? Personally, my worldview and beliefs are built on what God revealed to His creatures in the Bible. And it doesn't contradict any scientific laws because He made them and sustains them.
