Notes
All 5000 ate and were filled with the food Jesus provided. Many appreciated what Jesus did but not who He was and the deeper purpose for His presence 6:15. A conviction of the following fact must happen before a proper appreciation of God is possible: for all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God, being justified as a gift by His grace through the redemption which is in Christ Jesus; (Romans 3:23-24 NASB) An event that occurred in 2008 follows now t o illustrate the first part of Rm 3:23 Weiguang Li (Vince Li) was born in China on April 30, 1968. He graduated with a degree and worked as a software engineer in Bejing prior to immigrating to Canada in 2001. In Canada, he worked at multiple jobs in Winnipeg and Edmonton and was described as a reliable and hard-working man. In June 2008, Li was fired over a disagreement with employees at one of his jobs in Edmonton which led him to search for a new job in Winnipeg. On July 30, Li entered a Bus heading to Winnipeg. He sat beside a 22-year old man, Tim McLean who had his earbuds in and slept. 30 km west of Portage la Prarie, Li suddenly drew a knife and stabbed, beheaded and cannibalized this man. The Police received a call at 8:30PM and arrested him 1:30AM when he attempted to escape the bus. Li became remanded of the Selkirk Mental Health Centre after the judge accepted a diagnosis of Chitzofrenia which deemed Li according to Canadian law as "not criminally responsible". On May 8, 2015, Li was released from the mental health facility first to join a group home in a Winnipeg community and eventually was granted to live independently. Here is the question I was aiming at for telling this gruesome life-story: How is Vince Li, on an elementary level, different from you and me? Li had no choice in where he was born, what family he would be part of, and in essence, no choice of the makeup of the chemicals in his brain that caused Li to be mentally ill. Nor had you and I a choice in those outcomes. A multitude of factors are results of the lives of generations that lived before us. This displays that ALL have sinned and fall short of the glory of God . The whole human race has fallen short of the perfect lives that God has intended for them. And that on all levels, that is, spiritually and physically. What follows now is a display of the glory of God in Jesus Christ based on John 6:1-15. Jesus Christ the glory of God: Jesus Christ was perfect in compassion because He was God in human form . He knew about the busyness of life that surrounded Him and the disciples so out of compassion for them He withdrew to the mountain to build them up and grand them rest form the masses. When He saw the multitude of the 5000 come to him, He knew that they were hungry from following Him all the way to the northwest of the sea of Galilee and provided food for them. He showed compassion and never ever did He fail to do so when it was appropriate. Are you compassionate or indifferent to those in need? - I know that I have fallen short many times. Jesus Christ was perfectly thrifty because He was God in human form. When the 5000 finished eating, He told the disciples to gather the leftovers. How do you make use of the things that were entrusted to you in this lifetime? Thriftiness is not always black and white but are you aware of areas in your life in which you habitually waste? Never did He ever waist. Jesus Christ was perfect in patience because He was God in human form. How difficult this one is! When the crowd wanted to make Him King, he withdrew and waited until He received His glorious crown in God's timing. He first wore the crown of thorns before the majestic crown was placed on His head. There is judgment for all who sinned and fall short of the glory of God. Everyone is responsible for their actions and will be held accountable by and before God. A Vince Li will not escape this judgment but neither will you and I unless you receive the gift of justification: being justified as a gift by His grace. It requires redemption in order to be right/justified to God. Jesus Christ provided that when He gave His life as a payment for sinners. You, I and even Vince Li may be cleared of all our sins as a gift by the means of God's grace in Jesus Christ. - Now, this is Good News!!!!! - Jesus Christ is able to multiply 5 bread and 2 fish to a crowd of 5000 people because He was God in human form. If he is able to do that, He also can grand you the gift of justification. You need to be right with God. May God grant you that now!
