I hope to come to you soon,
but I am writing these things to you so that,
if I delay,
you may know how one ought to behave in the household of God, which is the church of the living God, a pillar and buttress of the truth.

Notes
[ This month's TableTalk, Ligonier Ministries has been on the doctrine of the church: ecclesiology. In my study today (topic prophets and apostles) I was reminded of these two important passages: Hebrews 1:1-3 God has spoken to us through our fathers (patriarchal), phophets and in the last days Christ who is in the image of God, the heir and the head of all things. For it is though his atoning death, we are justified before God. 1 Timothy 3:14-16 For this reason Paul writes to Timothy to remind the church how to live, namely that Christ manifested in the flesh is the image of true godliness. Who has taught us how to live godly before God. For it is our hope and security that we lean on Christ for our positional holiness and our means of walking in holiness.
