What is the connection between unity in the church and the humility of its members? -- Humility brings forth unity . At the heart of many of the schisms in the church today, is selfish ambition and self interest. We must constantly be conscious of our motivations and hold our hearts up the word and God, because we are prone to seek after our own glory and not His. If we are all seeking after our own glory , there will be divisions and quarrels and fights among us. Treating others more significant than ourselves and looking not only to our interests but theres as well, is the means by which we create and maintain unity amongst fellow believers Jesus is our ultimate example of humility -- No one was ever as humble as Jesus. The creator of the universe humbled himself by becoming a human being , enduring scorn, and dying a criminal's death. What is the connection between Jesus's humility and our humility -- Jesus's humility has resulted in his exaltation as King and ruler and savior , to the glory of God . -- Our humility results in unity amongst the children of God , so that we are truly salt and light in the world, showing forth the transforming power of the gospel and the hope that we have, to the glory of God
