This is a pivotal text for the church as it gives grounds to Paul's apostolic ministry. From this arguement we can know that the Paul's epistles are not only his words, but God's as well. Sprinkled in this brief autobiography are a few truths that we may glean in addition to Paul's arguement. Confession: Verses 13-14 - Paul shows understanding of his old self. - He shows us how prone we are to follow in the footsteps of our ancestors. - He also tells us of how much he lost in abandoning Judaism - Arguement: The life-change and truth Paul speaks are not his, but God's. Explanation of Salvation: Verses 15-16 - We are set apart before birth and called during life - The call is not simply to belief, but to a purpose - It pleases God to call his people - Arguement: Paul is called by God, not by man and not for man's approval. Avenue of Praise: Verse 23-24 - We should pray, be grateful, and glorify God for the salvation of our enemies - Arguement: Paul's story exacting God's glory is further testimony to God working through Paul's ministry. Overall, Paul is bulding a case for why the Gospel he preaches is from God, not from men or self. The reason for this is the Galatians are forsaking the Gospel preached to them by Paul. Paul takes the approach of qualifying himself as a representative for Christ over those the Galatians are now following. It seems from v. 6-10 that Paul takes their turning to a different gospel personally, as if it were a slight to his character and calling. QUESTIONS: Why did Paul take the situation so personally? Why was it important that the Judean churches still hadn't known him in person? Why was it important that he didn't see any apostles but James and Peter?

For I would have you know, brothers,
that the gospel that was preached by me is not man's gospel.
For I did not receive it from any man,
nor was I taught it,

but I received it through a revelation of Jesus Christ.

For you have heard of my former life in Judaism,
how I persecuted the church of God violently
and tried to destroy it.
progression
And I was advancing in Judaism beyond many of my own age among my people,
so extremely zealous was I for the traditions of my fathers.

But when he who had set me apart before I was born,
and who called me by his grace,
was pleased to reveal his Son to me,
actionmanner
in order that I might preach him among the Gentiles,
I did not immediately consult with anyone;
nor did I go up to Jerusalem to those who were apostles before me,
but I went away into Arabia,
and returned again to Damascus.

Then after three years I went up to Jerusalem

and remained with him fifteen days.
But I saw none of the other apostles except James the Lord's brother.

Then I went into the regions of Syria and Cilicia.
And I was still unknown in person to the churches of Judea that are in Christ.
They only were hearing it said,
