Main point summary
Like He does in many areas of life, Jesus calls us to even higher standards of obedience than the Old Testament law. He commands us not to divorce on the grounds that divorce is the antithesis of what God has done in joining the two together in marriage (note that God creates the marriage). We are but man and he is God, He has created the marriage and we have no right to dissolve it. Ignoring the commands of Jesus is sin therefore divorce must be considered sinful according to this passage (no exceptions are given). Furthermore, if we ignore this command and we do divorce, and go as far as “marrying” another, this “marriage” is a sham and we live in a consistent state of adultery against our true spouse.

And marries another woman

He commits adultery against his first wife (therefore the marriage is not legitimate but is consistent sin)
