What does God say about us? 1)God made us unique for His glory (Isaiah 43:1-7). 2)We are made by God in His image not an ape. (Genesis 1:26-27) 3) We resemble God. -Not by flesh and blood since God is spirit. -But immaterial part of humanity such as...... Mentally - Humans can reason and choose. Anyone that makes a machine or writes a book. Socially - created for fellowship. Triune nature and love. Marriage. Family. Morally - Humans created in righteousness, innocence, Reflection of God’s holiness. Moral “compass” conscience. Writes a law , praises goodness, and slanders evil. (All twisted due to sin) The solution for our sin is Christ. - Jesus Christ, the Son of God, who is set apart all other things (Holy Holy Holy) and perfect image of God: - “The Son radiates God’s own glory and expresses the very character of God” ( Hebrews 1:3) To see Jesus is to see the Father ( John 14:9) . - The good news is that when God saves a person. - He begins to restore the original image of God. -Redemption is only in the person and work of Jesus Christ. -Jesus Christ shows us what it really means to be made in His image. Christian worldview gives us correct view on these issues. Abortion issue: 1)At moment of fertilization God formed us in our mothers womb (Psalm 139:13–16). The unique DNA combination is made in the mothers womb. Once egg is made no new information is added. You are you from moment of fertilization. Racism: 2)We treat everyone as image bearers of God. One race Human race. We look at people as valuable. Gender issue: Male and Female He created them. (Mark 10: 6 ) *We must look to Him who has all authority in heaven and on earth. The King of Kings and Lord of Lords. The Last Adam that conquered on our behalf who is Jesus Christ. *We are special people made in the image of God. *We are not just apes. *But we are broken and in need of Christ. *God restores the image that was broken.
