This passage was first completed back the week after it was due (I wasn't in class the week that we studied this passage). Since then, I neglected to comment on it or print it out. I went and wrote comments in this section, but then I must of accidently hit the "select all" and "clear" buttons on the keyboard...and then the arc autosaved on me and I couldn't undo it. Therefore, I am not saying going to try to comment and write questions again... ...although this passage is really great! The idea of learning Christ implies a wonderful point, that while we learned Christ (one-time event on conversion), we are also having to put off the former way of living (which means that it is STILL a battle)! The way we fight this is to be renewed in our minds (done by the Spirit) and to clothe ourselves with the new man, that is, Christ, which means remembering and identifying with all the Christ was for us in our justification and is for us in our sanctification.

Therefore I say this and I testify this in the Lord,
(that) you (must) no longer walk as also the Gentiles walk, (which is) in the futility of their minds,
ideaexplanation
(for) having been darkened in (their) mind,
(due to) being alienated from the life of God
because of the unbelief (which is) being in them
because of the stubbornness of their hearts,
ground
(therefore) having lost all feeling themselves,
they gave themselves over to sensuality,
unto the practice of all impurity in coveteousness.

bilateral
But you did not learn Christ in this manner,
if indeed you heard (about) him and you were taught in him,
even as the truth is in Jesus.
conditional
(in light of the new manner in which you learned Christ, therefore, you must) put to death the old man with reference to (your) former manner of life, the one being corrupted according to the desires of deceit,
and (instead) to be renewed in the spirit of your mind
and to clothe yourselves with the new man, the one who was created according to God in righteousness and in holiness of truth.
