God delivers His people through immeasurable acts of glory, power, grace and mercy to display that He, alone, is worthy of praise. He is God, He contends for you, He loves you, and He wants you to know His fellowship. Therefore, love Him and experience His grace for you by obeying His commands, which brings Him delight, and shall result in your blessing forever.

What is the 'great thing'? Historical deliverance and fellowship with God.
This is the point: that you would know God is God alone. None can compare, and none are worthy of Him.
